Air Wing School Cadets Assessment Camp at SLAF Diyathalawa

The 3rd Air Wing School Cadets Assessment Camp was successfully completed at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Diyatalawa under the guidance of Commanding Officer Group Captain Janaka Amerasinghe. The significant feature of this camp is for the first time in assessment camp history St John's College Cadets participated representing the Jaffna district.
The cadets are assessed on Director’s Examination, Assault Confidence course, Squad Drill, Billet Inspection, Physical Efficiency Test and Concert. The concert which was held at the Station Assembly Hall become a tremendous event that depicted the hidden talents of the future leaders.
On the final day a passing out parade of the 3rd Air Wing School Cadets was held and Director National Cadet Corp Major General G B W Jayasundara RWP RSP grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Nine hundred and eleven cadets passed out from a colorful parade with the intention of giving their maximum contribution for the development of Mother Lanka. Thirty four (34) schools took part in the event from all corners of Sri Lanka irrespective of race and religion.
The trophy for the first place was won by Bandaranayake College from Gampaha. Second and third places were secured by Risikala Aesthetic Collage from Kandy and Ananda Collage from Colombo respectively. 2/AW 0127 Sgt Subashitha HNK emerged as the Best Commander.
