29th anniversary of SLAF Unit Batticaloa

Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Batticaloa was declared open on 27 March 1983 by Hon Minister MA Abdul Majeed and the then Commander of the Air Force Air Vice Marshal DC Perera. The first Commanding Officer was Flying Officer KAD Dissanayake.

Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Batticaloa celebrated its 29th anniversary on 27 March 2012 with the guidance of present Commanding Officer Wing Commander WMAB Wewegama. The unit organized a cricket tournament followed with all rank lunch and in the evening a ‘Bodi poojawa’ was conducted to invoke blessings to Mother land.



 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
