Sergeant Asanka Pradeep and LAC Malintha Yapa of the SLAF won the Bronze medal at the Thailand Open Asian Beach Volleyball Tour held at Trat in Thailand on 05 April 2012.

At the Bronze medal match the Sri Lankan team beat  pair from Thailand 21-15 and 21-16 to secure the match.

Incidentally this is the maiden international tour of Leading Aircraftman Malintha while Sergeant  Asanka is a seasoned campaigner in the discipline of Beach Volleyball.
