Flight safety poster competition was held on 29th May 2012 at No 02 Squadron hangar. Base Commander Katunayake, Air Commodore DLS Dias graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Distinguished judge panel consists of Air Commodore PDA Marestella, Group Captain SCK Pallewela, Group Captain JP Balasooriya, Group Captain RP Liyanagamage, Group Captain TADR Senanayake selected 25 posters for the second round. Out of those 25 posters 1st prize was won by 38578 Leading Air Craftsman Fernando PHKRI of SLAF Station Ampara, 2nd prize was won by 02124 Squadron Leader RMKTK Gunasekara of No 02 Squadron and 3rd prizes respectively won by 27415 Corporal Thilaka RGA of ADC&CC. This programme was launched to enhance the flight safety awareness among the SLAF personnel.
