House Donation in Kurunegala to Family of War Hero

Under the guidance of Commander of the Air Force, The
Directorate of Welfare of the Sri Lanka Air Force constructed a house at
No 93, Diddeniya Waththa, Boyagane, Kurunagala which was presented to
the wife and daughter of the Wing Commander APJ
Mohotti on 8th June 2012.
Wing Commander APJ Mohotti was killed in action when the Bell 212 which he was piloting crashed in Doramadalawa, while attacking to a terrorist aircraft on 22 September 2007.
The house warming ceremony was held in the presence of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama. The wife of The Director Welfare Mrs. Silva was also present on the occasion.
The Ranaviru Welfare fund which functions under the patronage of Directorate of Welfare of the Sri Lanka Air Force allocated 1 million rupees to complete the construction of the house which was carried out under the supervision of the Director Civil Engineering.
