Professionals Inducted Into the Sri Lanka Air Force
Nine professionals in the fields of Information Technology, Electronics
Engineering, Civil and mechanical Engineering received commissions in
the Sri Lanka Air Force today; 26 June 2012.
Their
oath taking ceremony was held at the Air Force Headquarters Auditorium
at 0900 hours under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air
Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama. The oath of commissioning and oath of
allegiance was administered by the Air Force Chief Recruiting Officer,
Group Captain HN Abeysinghe.
While welcoming them
into the Air Force, the Commander gave some insights of what the service
expected of them, what separates a civilian professional from a
professional in the armed forces, the challenges ahead and the boundless
opportunities and privileges they may enjoy while in uniform.
These professionals left immediately for SLAF
Station Diyatalawa to undergo the No. 60 Direct Entry Officers Course,
as student officers, starting from 27 June 2012, after which they will
be taking up their respective appointments in different branches in the
SLAF.
