A Leadership and Personality Development programme, for the young stewardesses of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, was successfully conducted recently at the school premises. 78 stewardesses, who will be selected as Senior Prefects, participated in this event.  8 lady officers and 5 male officers led by Wing Commander Chithrika Pathirana, conducted the programme.

The programme consisted of various team building and leadership activities, comprehensive presentations on Customs and Etiquettes, Communication and Time Management Skills, and Leadership and Team Building. Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne participated as a guest lecturer at this event and Squadron Leader Thilakshini Abeyanayake and Flying Officer Nuwan Medagama conducted presentations.

The officers’ interaction with the young students served as a means of motivation and was also fruitful in enhancing their knowledge and experience in developing their Leadership and Team Building skills., Considering the feedback given by the students and the Directing Staff of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo 7 it can be confidently concluded that this workshop was extremely successful and served to fulfill its expected goals motivating a new generation to willingly take on responsibility in their future roles.
