The Semi Finals of  "Guwan Prathibha Prabha – 2012" was staged on the 20th of August 2012, at SLAF Base Katunayake. In keeping with a concept of the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU), Mrs Neelika Abeywickrema, “Guwan Prathiba Prabha” was initiated during the year 2011, to bring out the talents in Singing, Dancing, Acting and Oratory from service personnel and their family members.

The talent search spans 4 stages from the selection of participants, quarter finals, semi-finals, and the Grand Finale.

There was keen enthusiasm seen among the participants at yesterday’s event, who were judged by some of the leading professionals in the entertainment industry to the likes of Mr. Nalaka Anjanakumara, Mr. Jayantha Rathnayaka and Mrs. Indika Chandrathilake judging the vocal abilities; Mr. Chandana Wickramasinghe , Mrs. Rajini Selvanayagam and Mr. Namala Wewaldeniya judging the dancing category; Mr. Prasad Suriyaarachchi, Mrs. Ramya Wanigasekara and Mrs. Suvineetha Weerasinghe judging drama category and Mr. Edward Chandrasiri, Mr. Anura Gunarathna and Mr. Gamini Jayalath judging the Oratory.

Accordingly, the following finalists were selected and they will perform at the ‘Grand Finale’ scheduled to be held at the Bishops College Auditorium Colombo on 12th September 2012.
