Safe Motherhood Program Conducted For Tri Service And Police Personnel At SLAF Unit Weerawila

An education program “Safe
Motherhood Program” was conducted at SLAF Unit Weerawila for the members
of the Air Force and their Family members. Personnel from the SLAF
Army, Navy and Police in the local area also took part in the
event.
The event was organized under the guidance of Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama, and on conducted under the the directions of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Unit, Gp Capt Dilshan Wasage. The event commenced with the lighting of a traditional oil lamp. Acting Commanding Officer, Wg Cdr TDE Harrison and other senior officers of the unit also attend the event.
Lectures on various topics were conducted by a well acclaimed panel of doctors headed by Dr. Hemantha Perera Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologists, President – Sri Lanka College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists and President – Menopause Society of Sri Lanka. The lectures consisted of topics such as Domestic Violence and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
