Sport Festival for the year 2012 was held at SLAF Base Vavuniya from 9th Aug 2012 to 7th Sep 12 with the guidance and instructions of the present Base Commander Air Cmdr NHV Gunaratne.

This Sport Festival was comprised with 8 sporting events including Cricket, Foot ball, Volley ball, Swimming , Rugby, Elle, Badminton and  Basket Ball. All the service personnel including airmen, JNCOs, SNCOs and Officers at Vavuniya Base as well as the service personnel at Madukandha and Mamadhuwa Detachment were participated to the sport events.

Awarded ceremony was held on 07 Sep 12 and the overall champions were shared between SNCOs and Iraq Detachment.
