No:11 Flight Kitchen and
Culinary Training Course was conducted for SLAF Mess Stewards and
Caterers from 10 September 2012 to 28 September 2012 for a period of 3
weeks at the Sri Lankan Catering Services Katunayake. The course was
organized by SLAF Unit BIA under the guidance of Air Force Headquarters.
The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Chief Executive officer Mr. Sarath Fernando and the Commanding Officer of SLAF Unit BIA Gp Capt WWPD Fernando. The Indian Production Manager Mr. Pande and Australian Executive Chef Mr. Antony conducted the programme for the SLAF personnel. During the course the SLAF participants were educated on subjects such as Hot Kitchen, Cold Kitchen, Bakery, Confectionery, Finger Foods, Food Safety, Food Hygiene and culinary art work. This course was offered by the Sri Lankan Catering Services to foster cordial relationship with SLAF.
