Sri Lanka Air Force men's Handball Team won the Rotary Beach Handball Festival 2012 held at the Mount Lavinia beach on 07th Oct 2012.

The festival was organized by the Rotary Club of Mount Lavinia with the assistance of the Handball Federation of Sri Lanka (HFSL). The SLAF men’s team displayed excellent skills and managed to grab the championship with a clinical performance.

The men's tournament consisted of 04 teams with the Department of Prison and SLAF battling it out in the final. The closely contested final saw both teams winning a 10 minute half 5 points to 4 and 10 points to 9 respectively, resulting in a penalty shootout. The SLAF won the shootout and the title by 7 points to 3.

Mr. Hemasiri Fernando, The Chairman of the Handball Federation of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Gp Capt JA Nanayakkara, Chairman of SLAF Handball was also present at the event.
