The Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Batticaloa sponsored the “Katina Pinkama” held at Mangalarama Temple, Batticaloa for the year 2012 on 03rd and 04th of November. The religious ceremony included an evening bodhi pooja, all night pirith chanting, alms giving in the morning and offering of katina chivaraya and pirikara. All officers and airmen actively took part in these events and contributed generously to make this event a success.
 
On the invitation of the Chief Incumbent of the Mangalaramaya Temple, Ven. Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thera, a huge number of devotees from all parts of the island also attended the “Katina Pinkama”.
