Air Force Women’s Volleyball Team Unbeaten

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Women’s Volleyball team remained
unbeaten throughout the year and ended the season in a high note by
clinching the Sri Lanka Youth Rupavahini Super League Volleyball
Championship 2012 in the women’s category recently. In the finals, SLAF
beat MAS Casualine Team in straight sets.
Previously, the Airwomen won the National Super League Volleyball Championship 2012, beating the team from Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment in the finals in May this year. They also won the National “A “Division Volleyball Championship for 2012. The team won the both Defence Services Indoor and Beach volleyball championships in August 2012.
The team comprises of several national players in its ranks with Airwoman Dinesha Prasadine, the National skipper leading the SLAF team as well. The team is coached by former national captain and a national coach, Sergeant Nalin Sampath Abeysinghe with Sergeants Upul Silva and Susiri Mangala assisting.
