SLAF Unit Weerawila celebrates The 65th Independence Day

In view of the 65th Independence Day Celebrations of Sri Lanka, SLAF Unit Weerawila under the guidance of the Commanding Officer Gp Capt MDJ Wasage organized a “Shramadana” Campaign to clean up the Weerawila Town Area.
The event was graced by the incumbent priest of the Weerawila Temple Ven.Yatigala Chandrananda, the Assistant Government Agent for Thissamaharama, Mr. Nilantha Siriwardhane. The event commenced with the arrival of the Commanding Officer and Dr. Prabath Liyanarachchi the MOH of Debarawewa. The Commanding Officer and Dr. Prabath Liyanarachchi addressed the service personnel and the civilian gathering on the importance of these campaigns to improve the cleanliness of the town and how it would affect the area in controlling epidemics such as ‘dengue’. A gathering of around 50 civilians from the Weerawila area and around 100 airmen and airwomen contributed to make this event a success.
