Sri Lanka Air Force English Day 2009

The language of English plays a vital role in all aspects development and it is a symbol of innovation. Further, His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksha had also declared this year as the year of English and IT. The SLAF too giving recognition to this fact, organized a English day at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ekala, last evening (17 November 2009).

The language of English acts as the medium of communication in the Sri Lanka Air Force, this event was planed to enhance the standards of the service men and woman. The entire program included Drama competitions, Singing of Songs, writing of essays and Speech competitions etc. The initial competitions were held on 10 & 11November 2009 at the SLAF Ekala auditorium.

The final competition was held last evening at the said auditorium, where Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonatileke the Commander of the Air Force, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
