SLAF Unit Baticalloa launched a dengue prevention campaign in Puthur area recently as part of their social responsibility projects, in par with the National Dengue Elimination Week which was announced from 1st July to 7th July 2013 with the view of preventing a possible dengue outbreak.

All susceptible areas, where mosquitoes could breed were cleaned to prevent breeding.This campaign was conducted with the contribution of service personnel of SLAF Unit Batticaloa.The program was actively supported by the Municipal Council, Public Health Inspector and residents in the area.
