Flash Style Commences In Trincomalee

Exercise FLASH STYLE is the Annual Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) exercise conducted in collaboration with the US Naval Special Warfare Community and the Sri Lankan Armed Forces. The exercise is organized by the Sri Lanka Navy at Special Boat Squadron Headquarters, Dockyard, Trincomalee and will continue until19th July 2013. The Aim of the exercise is to enhance military capabilities with a focus on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and rescue operations.
Special Boat Squadron, Fast Attack Flotilla, Divers and Rapid Response Rescue and Release Squadron of the Sri Lanka Navy are taking part in the exercise along with a ten member US team from US Navy SEALs, Special Boat Unit and US Air Force.
The Sri Lanka Air Force also takes part in the exercise deploying a Bell 212 Helicopter with a Regiment Special Forces contingent to conduct Fast Roping, Rappelling and SPIE Special Purpose Insertion and Extraction (SPIE) training.
