Press Conference on Ranaviru Real Star Mission - III

Mr. Lakshman Hulugalle, Director General at Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) made public the intention and the award structure of the grand finale of the highly anticipated Ranaviru Real Star Mission: III, the Reality Show finals in Sri Lanka which highlights the hidden talents of our armed forces personnel to hit the airways live on Sri Lanka Rupavahini on 27th July 2013 at the press briefing held at the Hotel Galadari Auditorium on 18th July 2013.
Ranaviru Real Star (RRS) was developed on a concept given by the Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa and is organized by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with event partner Dialog Axiata PLC Sri Lanka. The panel of judges which comprises eminent personalities involved in the music industry in Sri Lanka will have a direct say in sixty percent of the outcome, while the rest of the outcome will be decided by the public via SMS.
The five finalists for RRS Mission: III comprises Lance Corporal Chaminda Kumara Rajapaksha, Lance Corporal Nadeesh Sasanga, Corporal Manoj Prasanna of Sri Lanka Army, Leading Aircraftman Thushani Perera of Sri Lanka Air Force and Able Musician Danuka Ranasinghe of Sri Lanka Navy also were introduced at the conference.
The winner of Ranaviru Real Star Mission: III would be the proud recipient of a house worth 20 million rupees, while the runner up would receive a brand new car worth 6.7 million rupees and a cash prize of 1 million rupees. The third place winner would receive a cash price of two million rupees, with fourth and fifth placements walking away with 500,000 rupees each and a 32 inch LED TV (Dialog Television) connection.
During the press conference, the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, veteran actor Mr. Jackson Anthony, the Chairman Sri Lanka Rupavahini Mr. Mohan Samaranayake and the Chief Manager Marketing Operations and Services, Dialog Axiata PLC Mr. Rizvi Farook also delivered speeches. On conclusion of the session the forum was opened to the media for questions.
The Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonatileke, The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, the Adjutant General of the Army Major General Jagath Dias representing the Commander of the Army, Senior Military Officers, the panel of judges, competitors and representatives from the sponsors were also present at the conference.
