SLAF Women’s Wrestlers won the Women’s Championship whilst SLAF Men’s secured the Runner up at the Defence Service Wrestling Championship 2013 which was held from 04th to 06th November 2013 at the Indoor Stadium of the SLAF Base Katunayake.

This is the first time in the Defence Services History that a Women’s wrestling tournament was held.
SLAF Women scored 23 points and bagged 3 Gold Medals, 02 Silver Medals and 02 Bronze Medals. In the Men’s title SLAF men scored 22 points and won 02 Gold Medals.03 Silver and 07 Bronze Medals.

Deputy Chief Of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General EP De Abeysekara graced the Finals as the Chief Guest. Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake Air Commodore SK Pathirana and the Chairman SLAF Wrestling Group Captain Priyantha Weersinghe were also present on the occasion.
