SLAF Base Hingurakgoda celebrated its 35th Anniversary on the 21st November 2013. The Formation Day working parade was held at the Base parade ground and it was reviewed by the Group Captain RP Liyanagamage, the present Base Commander of the SLAF Base Hingurakgoda. This was followed by Elle tournament with the participation of all personnel in the Base and concluded with an all ranks lunch.

As part of the 35th anniversary celebrations, Shramadana programmes were conducted at Hingurakgoda Hospital and Hingurakgala Temple with the participation of the service personnel and civilians of the area. A lunch was offered to children of “Minihiri Kantha Surakum”, differently abled children’s home on 23 November 2013.
