Leading Aircraftsman Sachith Madushanka wins Commander’s Trophy Golf Tournament 2014

Leading Aircraftsman Sachith Madushanka won the Commander’s Trophy Golf Tournament 2014, which saw the participation of some of Sri Lanka’s finest golfers, at the annual Golf tournament which concluded this afternoon (25th January 2014) at the Eagle’s Golf Links China Bay.
The tournament, played under the ‘Stableford Rules’ was an open event and commenced at 0730 hrs with the participation of eighty three golfers. The challenge was spiced up with enjoyable and unique rounds of golf on Bermuda grass fairways comprising 18 holes course with remote sand bunkers, roughs and of course doglegs right and left.
In the Men’s title Mr. Farzara Sikkander and Mr.Priath Fernando received awards for the longest drive and for the nearest to the pin respectively. In the Women’s title Mrs. Shirani Buffin won the Trophy whilst Ms. Dhanushi Senadeera received awards for the longest drive and for the nearest to the pin.
The awards were presented at a gala awards night held at ‘Bay View’ restaurant of the Eagle’s Golf Links by the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The Chief of Staff of the SLAF Air Vice Marshal Kolitha Gunathilaka, Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Vice Marshal PDJ Kumarasiri, Director Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering Air Vice Marshal RJ Pathirage, Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayeka Air Commodore SK Pathirana and former Director Dental Service Air Vice Marshal AMB Amunugama also participated in the tournament.
