“Deyata Kirula”-Cycle Race 2014

The “Deyata Kirula “Cycle Race 2014 was held during 17th, 18th, 19th & 20th February in 4 stages.  The first stage, covering 120km between Tangalle and Ratnapura was completed on 17 February.  The Second Stage, 144.6km between Karanawella and Dambulla was completed on the 18th while the third, the longest stretch covering 145 km to Puttalam was on the 19th.  The fourth and last stage covering 125.5km was completed on the 20th February and culminated in Kuliyapitiya.
 
Cyclist from all around the country participated in this race and had to conquer 535.1Km during the 4 Stages. LAC Jeewan Jayasingha emerged the winner of both the 2nd & 3rd Stages while AC Madusanaka Perera won the 4th Stage.  LAC Samantha lakmal became as the overall winner.

The awards for the Best Young Rider and Sprint Champion went to AC Widush Fernando and Lac Jeewan Jayasingha respectively.
