SLAF Bakmaha Ulela 2014

The SLAF ‘Bakmaha Ulela 2014’ was held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana this morning (10th April 2014) with the participation of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke as the Chief Guest. The event was organized by SLAF Base Ratmalana under the guidance of chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Roshani Gunatilleke.
A range of games were organized at the celebrations, including a number of traditional Avurudu games such as ‘Pancha Keliya’, ‘Kotta Pora’, ‘Kana Mutti’ and the ever famous tug-of-war. The much anticipated ‘Avurudu Kumaraya’ and the ‘Avurudu Kumari’ pageants also took to the stage at the celebrations, with the winners receiving their prizes from the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke and Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Roshani Gunathileke.
Members of the SLAF Board of Management, Base Commanders and Commanding Officers of SLAF establishments, and members of the civilian staff participated at the Avurudu celebrations along with their families.
