Annual AOC’s Inspection at SLAF Station Ampara and SLAF Station Batticaloa

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke conducted the Annual Inspection of SLAF Station Ampara and SLAF Station Batticaloa on 8th May 2014.
The Commander, upon arrival for the inspection to the SLAF Station Ampara, was received into the camp premises by the Group Captain Chaminda Wickramaratne through a street lining of airmen commanded by Flight Lieutenant RCN Ranneththi.
During the course of the inspection, the Commander visited all areas of the Station and declared open the new building of the Station Pre School. On conclusion of the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks of the Station and praised the commendable job they had performed. The Commander awarded commendations to Sergeant Liyanaarachchi KS (Ops Guard Sp), Corporal Priyankara WS (Clk GD), Mr. WD Rathnasiri (Clerk) and Mr. SD Piyadasa (Mess Assistant) for their outstanding meritorious works.
At SLAF Station Batticaloa, Commanding Officer Group Captain Nishantha Priyadarshana received the Commander on his arrival and a Street Lining commanded by Flight Lieutenant NV Anura was accorded to the Commander of the Air Force.
During the tour of inspection at Batticaloa the Commander declared open the newly constructed Officers' Married Quarters, VIP and Senior Officers' Transits Blocks and also awarded commendations to Warrant Officer RMJ Mahesh (Ops Grd Sp) and Corporal Kumara WNAD (Electrician) who had contributed immensely to uplift the standard of the Station. During the customary address to the Officers, Airmen and the Civilian staff of the Station the Commander praised all personnel on a commendable job done and encouraged them to set and reach even higher goals to uplift the standard of the Station and the Sri Lanka Air Force.
