The third formation day of TTS SLAF Ekala was celebrated on 22 June 2014.  Originally established as SLAF Ekala, which contained the Trade Training School as a subordinate unit, was reestablished as The Trade Training School, Ekala on 22 Jun 2011.
 
A Shramadana was carried out at St Martins Elders home Kotugoda  on 22 June 2014 followed by the working parade on 23 June 2014.  The Commanding Officer, Group Captain Ranjith Senanayake and all officers and men of the Unit participated in the celebrations.
