Ground Defence and Air Base Defence Proficiency Course for Bangladesh Air Force Personnel -2014

Sri Lanka Air Force Diyatalawa has launched a
newly designed Ground Defence Proficiency course for Bangladesh Air
Force personnel. The second (2nd) batch completed its training
successfully on 4th July 2014 under the directives given by the
Directorate of Training, Air Force Headquarters. The course was
conducted under the supervision of the Commanding Officer Group Captain
WWPD Fernando and Officer Commanding Training Wing Commander GPNC
Piyasena from 28th April to 04th July
2014.
The course, conducted for four (04) Officers and six (06) JNCOs, comprised Weapon Training, Individual Combat Skills, Mechanism of Defence and Ground Defence of Air Bases, Intelligence and Counter Intelligence, General Responsibilities of an Officer and Field Training Exercises. The participants also had the opportunity to perform operational briefings in addition to their scheduled programme.
The officers and the instructors who were tasked with this training assignment expressed their opinion that course of this nature gave them a valuable experience. They felt that this tye of interaction was mutually beneficial because it definitely strengthens the bond between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and contributes to the furtherance of the goals of international peace, security and regional co-operation as well.
