The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the No 59 Non Commissioned Officers’ Management Course

The certificate awarding ceremony of No. 59 Non Commissioned Officers’ Management Course was held at the Ground Training School auditorium of the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay on the 12th September 2014. Air Commodore SK Pathirana, the Base Commander Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

The primary objective of conducting this course is to transform a sound academic and managerial knowledge while sharpening leadership qualities within Non Commissioned Officers of the SLAF. The course runs through a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 11 weeks. The comprehensive course is affiliated to the University of Rajarata and all Non Commissioned Officers who fulfil the required criteria will be awarded with a Certificate in Management. The 59th batch comprising of 42 Senior Non Commissioned Officers of SLAF, 44 Junior Non Commissioned Officers of SLAF, 02 Senior Non Commissioned Officers of SL Army and 01 Chief Petty Officer and 01 Petty Officer of SL Navy. Certificates were awarded to above declared 90 Non commissioned officers to acknowledge the successful completion of the course.
22427Flight Sergeant De Silva DSW (Male Nurse) was placed as the Best all-round Senior Non Commissioned Officer while 24724 Sergeant Wimal LN(Provost) was placed as the Best all-round Junior Non Commissioned Officer. Other special award winners are as follows.
