Air Force Avurudu Pola 2017
Sri Lanka Air Force Avurudu Pola, an annual event organized by the Directorate of Welfare was held today (11 April 2017) at the ‘Rifle Green’ Ground of SLAF Station Colombo.
The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy attended the Avurudu pola as the Chief Guest with the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy. The event was launched after the lighting of the traditional oil lamp.
Director Welfare Air Commodore WMKSP Weerasinghe, members of the AFBM and Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore Waruna Gunawardane were present during the opening.
Officers, Airmen, Airwomen and civilian staff of Sri Lanka Air Force attended the Avurudu Pola along with their family members and were seen happily buying various products offered at concessionary rates at the outlets operated by SLAF establishments from all over the country.
