SLAF Cyclist, Leading Aircraftman Sanju Deemantha won the first leg of the Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya which ended in Kandy this afternoon. Today’s race concluded in front of the Asiri Hospital in Kandy. Chathura Madushan who competed from the Dehiwala Mount Lavinia Municipal Council Team came in second while Army Cyclist, Pathum Sampath secured the third place.

The race covered a distance 126 km with a participation of over 150 cyclists including a cycling team from the Pakistan Air Force as well. The race will commence for its second leg tomorrow morning from Kandy and will end in Trincomalee.
