The intelligence division of SLAF Trikonamadu recovered a store of weapons in the general area of Wellamulliwaikkal and Karemulliwaikkal last Tuesday (14 September).  A team led by Pilot Officer P.S.D.D. Rupasinghe went to the said location on a tip off received by an ex-LTTE cadre currently detained at the Trikonamadu Rehabilitation Centre.


Recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Office Commanding SLAF Mullativu on 16 September and the team returned to Trikonamadu on the same day.


The team was accompanied by the informant for their search where the following items were recovered.

02 - T56 Weapons with filled mags
06 - 152 mm Artillery round used as IED's
05 -  2.5 kg Claymore mines
02 -  Ragavan Claymore mines (25 Kg, manufactured by LTTE)
170 - 7.62x MPMG ammo  (with link)
14 (without ammo)   - 7.62x MPMG Link
13 - LTTE Made Hand Grenades
05 - T82 Hand grenades
