219 Civilians Quarantined at the Mullaitivu SLAF Quarantine Centre Leave for Homes

219 civilians who came from the Korea and were quarantined at the SLAF Quarantine Centre in Mullaitivu completed the required period yesterday (18 July 2020) and were sent home to their families. The Quarantine Centre at Mullaitivu was established on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias in order to support the government’s effort of controlling the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.
The 219 civilians who were released today were made up of 211 males and 8 females and they had completed 14 days at the Centre from 3 July 2020. On the instructions of the Commander, these civilians were provided with all required necessities to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
These civilians have been instructed to further self-quarantine themselves at home for a period of 14 days. The operation and management of the SLAF Quarantine Centre at Mullaitivu was done under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Mullaitivu, Group Captain AN Wijesiriwardena and the staff of the Station.
