Commander Pays Homage to Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, paid homage to the Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura this morning (8th November 2020) seeking blessings on his new appointment as the 18th Commander. The Commander also called on the Atamasthanadhipathi and Chief Sanghanayaka North Central Province, Most Venerable Dr. Pallegama Sirinivasa Nayaka Thero.
The Commander also paid homage to the Ruwanweli Seya and Abhayagiriya after which he called on the Chief Incumbents of the Ruwanweli Maha Chaithyaramaya and Abhayagiriya, Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Nayaka Thero and Venerable Dr. Kallanchiye Rathanasiri Nayaka Thero. The Commander also made a visit to the SandaHiru Seya as well.
During today’s visit, Air Marshal Pathirana was accompanied by members of his family, the Base Commander of SLAF Base Anuradhapura, Air Commodore Lasitha Sumanawerera and several SLAF personnel as well.
