The Change of Command Parade at the Ground Training Wing in China Bay took place yesterday (16 December 2020) at the SLAF Academy Parade Square. The Outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain W U S De Silva USP, psc handed over command to Group Captain W M D G C P K Warnasooriya USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MA (IR), BA (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc. Following the parade a formal administrative handing over of duties was conducted at the office of the Commanding Officer.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain De Silva took over the Command of the Wing on 20 February 2020. The incoming Commanding Officer, Group Captain Warnasooriya was previously performing duties at the Directorate of Ground Operations as the Staff Officer Ground Operations III.
