The Sri Lanka Air Force as one of the leading technically experienced organizations in the field of operating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Drones provided technical expertise to the Special Task Force (STF) and Sri Lanka Police Department this morning (06 May 2021) at Nugegoda.
Today’s initial session was conducted with the participation of Drone Operators from the SLAF, Special Task Force and Officers from the Traffic Police as well. The aim of these operations is to monitor the locations of traffic congestions with the use of drones and to direct Police Officers to locations which require their intervention in reducing the congestion. This system will also enable the Police Officers to monitor violations of motor traffic laws and to use the footage obtained by drones against such offenders.
