The change of command of SLAF Station Colombo, took place today (12 May 2021) at the Station premises. The Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Station where the Outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Vice Marshal AJ Amerasinghe RSP, USP, MDS, MHRM, MSSD, BSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, ndc, psc handed over command to Air Commodore MDJ Wasage USP, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, Pg Dip (IR).

The Outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Vice Marshal Amerasinghe is to take over the appointment of Director Ground Operations subsequently at Air Force Headquarters. The new Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Wasage commanded SLAF Station BIA before being appointed to command SLAF Station Colombo.
