A new Beat Group named “Eagles II” has been established by the Directorate of Performing Arts and their debut musical endeavor was conducted at the Astra Cinema Hall in Katunayake on 04 October 2021 with the participation of the Southern Air Commander and the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, Director Performing Arts, Group Captain Anuruddha Wijesiriwarena and selected number of Officers and Other Rankers. The event was held with adherences to health guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19.

The Main purpose of forming this new Beat Group is to cater for the very high demand for SLAF Beat Groups to perform at wedding ceremonies of serving and retired personnel as well as other SLAF functions where these unique services are required.
