SLAF BASE HINGURAKGODA CELEBRATES 43RD ANNIVERSARY

SLAF Base Hingurakgoda proudly commemorated its 43rd Anniversary today (23 November 2021) under the guidance of the Base Commander, Group Captain KAPS Kuruwita.
The anniversary day proceedings commenced with a traditional Working Parade which was reviewed by the Base Commander followed by addressed to all ranks and civilians. The Base Commander stressed the importance and historical value of the Base. Further, he appreciated the valuable contributions made by all the service personnel including civilian staff during challenging circumstances.
Subsequently, a multi religious progrmme and a Tree Planting programme were conducted at the Base premises which was followed by a Cricket tournament and an All Ranks Lunch.
In line with the anniversary celebrations, a Blood Donation Campaign was also held in collaboration with the National Blood Bank on 17 November 2021 at the Base premises, giving prominence to Community Service activities. Further, a Community Service Project was conducted at “Dharmapala Bosath” Children Orphanage. All events were held with adherence to health guidelines for the prevention of spreading COVID-19.
