CBRNE WING AT KATUNAYAKE CELEBRATES 02ND ANNIVERSARY

The 02nd Anniversary of the No 49 Chemical/ Biological/ Radiological/ Nuclear/ Explosive Device (CBRNE) Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake was celebrated on 27 November 2021.
The celebrations commenced with the traditional Working Parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Niledra Perera followed by the address to all ranks of the Wing. The Commanding Officer highly appreciated the tireless effort of the CBRNE First Responders towards disinfection operations against COVID-19 pandemic.
Subsequently, a cricket tournament was conducted to develop the unity among all ranks. The Southern Air Commander and Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal RAUP Rajapaksa graced the event as the Chief Guest.
In line with the anniversary, the Wing had organized a series of Community Service Projects and religious activities by conducting a ‘Shramadana’ campaign at Gonawala Temple on 20 November 2021 and a ‘Pichcha Mal Pooja’at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on 25 November 2021.
All activities were organized in accordance with health guidelines for prevention of spreading COVID-19.
