The change of command of SLAF Station Weerawila took place yesterday (31 December 2021) where the traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Station Parade Square. The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain DRW Jayawardena USP, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MDS, BA (Def Stu), psc handed over the Command to Group Captain ADM Koralage USP.

The Outgoing Commanding Officer addressed the Station and thanked all personnel for the support they extended to him during his tenure as the Commanding Officer.

Group Captain Jayawardena will be proceeding overseas for further educational purposes. The new Commanding Officer, held the appointment of Senior Staff Officer Accounts at the Directorate of Administration, Air Force Headquarters before being appointed to command SLAF Station Weerawila.
