SRI LANKA AIR FORCE CONDUCTS AN ALL NIGHT PIRITH CHANTING PROGRAMME AT THE HIGHEST POINT OF SRI LANKA (SLAF STATION PIDURUTALAGALA) FOR THE FIRST TIME
4:21pm on Monday 3rd January 2022
On the directives of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, SLAF Station Pidurutalagala(the highest point of Sri Lanka) conducted an all-night Pirith Chanting programme for the first time in the history, on 01 January 2022 followed by Almsgiving Ceremony on the morning of 2 January 2022. This was conducted to invoke blessings to the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa, all personnel of the Air Force and their families  and to the entire nation.
 
Further, consecutive second time in the history of the SLAF, the Pirith Chanting programmes were conducted in the same schedule at Academy, all Bases and Stations located in entire Sri Lanka simultaneously, to invoke blessings to entire island nation to have the strength and courage to move forward through these challenging times in the dawn of the New Year 2022. These events were conducted with adherence to health guidelines which have been set up for the prevention of COVID-19.
