SLAF USHERS IN THE NEW YEAR 2022

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana made his New Year’s address to the Air Force Board of Management, All Officers, Other Ranks and Civilian Staff of Air Force Headquarters, SLAF Station Colombo and all Air Force establishments today (3 January 2022), the first working day of the year 2022.
The proceedings, which were streamed, live to all establishments of the SLAF commenced with the hoisting of the national flag and the recitation of oath/affirmation of the public service. The Air Force Board of Management, Officers, Other Ranks and Civilian Staff of Air Force Headquarters and Station Colombo were present at the Air Force Headquarters compound.
Commander of the Air Force highlighted that the SLAF was embarking on its 70th year, strengthened by the experiences and responsibilities of 2021. Also, he recalled the many projects and missions undertaken and completed in support to the Nation building, to fight against COVID-19 and to improve the welfare and recreational facilities of the SLAF and stated that the success of these projects and missions were conferred for all concerned.
Commander gave his assurance that 2022 would see the SLAF fulfilling its commitments towards national security and its responsibilities to the Nation in order to meet the new challenges. A multi religious ceremony was also held at the Air Force Headquarters to invoke blessings on the SLAF and its personnel.
