The Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade of SLAF Station Mirigama was held on 12 January 2022 where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain S A P T Piyarathne RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com - PRC), BSc (Def Stu) in Mgt (Hons), psc handed over the command to Group Captain W W N T P Fernando RWP, RSP and Bar, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), psc.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain W W N T P Fernando held the appointment of Assistant Military Liaison Officer - Air at Ministry of Defence before being appointed to command of SLAF Station Mirigama. The outgoing Commanding Officer, will be assuming command of SLAF Base Vavuniya on 14 January 2022.
