SLAF JOINS WITH “INDUSTRY - 2022” NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION AT BANDARANAIKE MEMORIAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HALL

‘Industry - 2022', the National Industrial Exhibition, organized by the  Ministry of Industries in parallel to the 74th National Independence Day celebrations was launched at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall on 03 February 2022 with participation of Honourable Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha as the Chief Guest. The  exhibition expected to showcase the revival of the potential industries in Sri Lanka.

SLAF also joined with the exhibition under the guidance given by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, and Command Research and Development Officer, Group Captain Chandimal Hettiarachchi together with Commanding Officer R&D Wing SLAF Base Katunayake Gp Capt Malitha Kumarage portrayed SLAF  inventions in the Aeronautical and other fields. Several R&D projects undertaken in SLAF were displayed at the SLAF stall to showcase the engineering and specialized capabilities of SLAF.   

Indegeonously manufactured Lihiniya  Mk I E UAV, Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit , IP based communication system developed for SLAF, coir mattress and paper recycling products and  other R&D projects  related to ATC, Parachute  Jumping and CBRNE operations are also displayed during the exhibition. The craftsmanship of SLAF in manufacturing model aircraft is also shown by having array of model aircraft.

The utility vehicle manufactured by the MTROW SLAF Base Kat and the indegeonously manufactured Lihiniya Mk II  UAV took part in the vehicle display parade conducted during the formal opening ceremony.
 
The exhibition is open for public till 06 February 2022.
