No. 61 Flight at SLAF Base Ratmalana, celebrated its 9th Anniversary today (06 May 2022). The Flight was established on 06th May 2013 and responsible for conducting VVIP/VIP and Passenger Transportation, Air Transportation for troops, Search and Rescue Operations, Fire Fighting, Under Slung Operations, Casualty Evacuation, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Operations and providing logistics support as and when directed by the SLAF Headquaters.

A Blood Donation Campaign was conducted under the guidance of Flight Commander, Wing Commander Asanka Ratnayaka on 04th May 2022 at SLAF Base, Ratmalana in parallel to the Anniversary celebration. This could address the timely requirement of the nation to save a life.

At the Anniversary celebration, a friendly cricket tournament was held to boost the mutual cooperation among its members.
