SLAF JOINS OPENING OF NEW CONSTRUCTIONS AT KURAGALA RAJAMAHA VIHARAYA AND STATE VESAK RELIGIOUS CELEBRATION - 2022

An ancient Buddhist monastery, known as Kuragala Rajamaha Viharaya, has a proud history of over 2300 years. This Buddhist religious site of archaeological value which portrayed a legacy running into the prehistoric times and the SLAF proudly joined the Opening Ceremony of new constructions and the State Vesak Religious Celebration – 2022 yesterday (17 May 2022) at the temple premises.

SLAF made their utmost contribution for Alms Giving, ‘Gilanpasa’ Pooja, Vesak Bethi Gee and Veask lanterns demonstration under the directions by Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and the supervision by Director Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Hemantha Soyza adding more colours to the solemn event.

The event was attended by Senior Staff Officer Directorate of Welfare, Group Captain SD Kalubowila, Director Performing Arts, Group Captain HWR Chandima, Acting Commanding Officer of Station Diyatalawa Wing Commander NAI De Silva, officers and airmen who contributed their fair share to this meritorious event.
