The National War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony 2022 was held at the War Heroes Memorial at Battaramulla under the patronage of His Excellency the President, Gotabaya Rajapakse today morning (19th May 2022) for the 13th consecutive year.

His Excellency the President offered floral tributes at the memorial in memory of the supreme sacrifice made by the Tri Service and Police personnel. The event was attended by Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Guneratne (Retd), Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, Major General Jagath Alwis (Retd), Commanders of the Army and Navy, Inspector General of Police and followed suit.
