SLAF STATION WEERAWILA CELEBRATES 44TH ANNIVERSARY

Sri Lanka Air Force Station Weerawila celebrated its 44th anniversary yesterday (01 June 2022) and several Community Service Projects were conducted simultaneously to the event under the instructions and supervision by the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Weerawila, Group Captain ADM Koralage.

A ‘Shramadana’ campaign and a renovation were conducted at Andaragaswewa Primary School in Bundala. The Project was conducted for 05 days at the location with the participation of the service personnel of SLAF Station Weerawila as well as teachers and parents of the school.

 “Sandungama Amunu Dahaya Rajamaha Viharaya” Tissamaharamaya was renovated and colour washed under the supervision by the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Weerawila and the contribution by service personnel of the Station. The project was conducted for 07 days and completed on 31 May 2022.

An “Ashirwadha Poojawa’’ which invoke blessings to the SLAF Station Weerawila was conducted at Katharagama Kiriwehera Rajamaha Viharaya and Ruhunu Katharagama Maha Dewalaya with the presence of the Commanding Officer, officers, airmen and airwomen on 31 May 2022.

The customary Working Parade, a tree planting campaign and a cricket tournament were conducted at the station for the anniversary celebration yesterday with the participation of the Commanding Officer, all officers, other ranks and civil staff of the station.
