The change of command at SLAF Station Ampara was held Yesterday (23 June 2022). The traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Station Parade Square where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore GGWTK Gunawardana RSP, USP, MDS, MIExpE, psc handed over command to Group Captain  GSN Priyadarshana RSP and Bar,USP, Justice of peace.

Air Commodore GGWTK Gunawardana took over the command of SLAF Station Ampara on 23 April 2021 and he will be proceeding to the Directorate of Ground Operations Air Force Headquarters to take over the appointment of Deputy Director Ground Operations.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain  GSN Priyadarshana held the appointment of Commanding Officer SLAF Regiment Training School Vanni before being appointed to command SLAF Station Ampara.
