ANNUAL ALL NIGHT PIRITH CHANTING CEREMONY

The Annual All Night Pirith Chanting Ceremony was held at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala yesterday (24 June 2022) under the directives of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, inline with the SLAF’s War Heroes Commemoration 2022.
This meritorious event was organized under the supervision by Director Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Hemantha Soysa and coordinated by theCommanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Group Captain Demian Weerasinghe to invoke blessings to the souls of Fallen War Heroes, to their alive family members, SLAF serving personnel and to the entire Nation to have the strength and courage to move forward through these challenging times.
Prior to the commencement of Ceremony, the ‘Reliquary’ (Karaduwa) was brought to Trade Training School’s Airmen Mess in a colorful procession and was placed in the ‘Pirith Mandapaya’ by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.
The Pirith Chanting Ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, Members of the Air Force Board of Management and their beloved spouses, Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Senior Officers, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Trade Training School.
Subsequently, an almsgiving was accorded to the Venerable Maha Sangha this morning (25 June 2022) by Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Dushyantha Rathnayake, members of the Air Force Board of Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala , Senior Officers, all Officers and Other Ranks of the School.
